Stat Breakdown: Numbers to Watch For
On a relatively slow news day this afternoon, I have taken some time to look at Arkansas stats as they get ready to play Georgia later this evening. Here's some of the more interesting numbers to keep in mind.
Four: The number of players averaging double figures in points-per-game on the season. Believe it or not, no other team in the SEC west can match that except for Auburn. Obviously the advantage to something like this is not having any one player to rely on for point production. To paraphrase a recent quote from Sonny Weems, "Any guy can step up on any given night."
Sixty: When the Hogs have held opponents to this point total or less, they're a perfect 8-0. A team that emphasizes high tempo, full-court pressure and quick transition offense, the one translates into the other.
Eleven: Wins when leading at halftime (and zero losses). For a team that has been noted as having sluggish starts, that says a lot. It's apparent Arkansas has quality talent and depth. What will be the difference as the Razorbacks get further into their conference schedule is their ability to establish their rhythm tempo as quickly as possible; and doing so on a consistent basis.
