Playoff Hoops arrives
While we're all sad at 40/29 our Friday Hoopla show comes to an end this week, playoff basketball takes its place. District tournaments tip off this week all across the area, including Huntsville, Paris, Shiloh Christian and Magazine. The higher classifications still have some regular season work to do, but we'll keep an eye on them too.
On a side note, it's great to see some schools that aren't strong in football, doing well in hoops. Huntsville has been a perennial power on the hardcourt for years, thanks to a couple of great coaches. Both the boys and girls Huntsville teams are nothing short of dominant this year, and both could be state champs before it's all said and done.
And how about Pea Ridge? Last Friday, their home gym was packed and loud as the boys team blew out rival Shiloh Christian. The Lady Hawks are just as good, and Pea Ridge will host the 1-3A Regional as well. Should be a great postseason and hopefully plenty of local teams bring home state titles.
