MIchael Vick is sorry....

Well, the apology finally came from Vick in the form of a press conference Monday following his "guily" plea in a federal courtroom. I've watched a lot of sports programming, and all I hear is kudos to the Falcons quarterback for stepping up like a man and admitting his mistakes.
Sorry folks, I don't see it that way, and I'm not buying it. This wasn't a single moment of bad judgment. Vick orchestrated a dogfighting ring for at least 5 years. That tells me he knowingly deceived his bosses, teammates, family and of course the public for a long time. He then lied to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell about it, until finally the Feds have enough proof he had no choice but to confess and accept his punishment.
Does anyone other than me believe Vick would still be running this dogfighting ring right now had the government not arrested him? He didn't have a moment of religious clarity or his conscious finally surfaced; he got caught. Big difference. So, he's free to apologize all he wants. To me, it's a public relations move to soften his image before the December sentencing. He should go to prison and when he gets out be banned for life from the NFL. End of story.
