Trouble on the Diamond

The weather was perfect, the crowd was electric, everything was in place for Arkansas to kick off their series against Ole Miss in style. Instead, the Rebels thwarted the Hogs 5-4, and Nick Schmidt's struggles continue on the mound. He wasn't shelled, but his counterpart Will Kline looked like the ace, posting 13 strikeouts on the night.
On offense, it was a two man show. Wayne Hrozek pinch hit for a struggling Jeff Nutt, and promptly smacked a 3 run homer to give the Hogs a brief lead. Meanwhile Logan Forsythe had a career night: 4-for-4 at the plate. But it's his baserunning blunder everyone will remember. With the game tied at 4 late, Forsythe was at third base. The catcher had been lobbing it back to the pitcher from a crouched position, and Forysthe decided to steal home. It didn't work. Dave Van Horn did not tell him to do it, and from the video we shot of the head Hog walking back to the dugout, he was none too pleased.
We'll see if the Hogs can salvage the series tonight. If Jess Todd can't turn things around, then no one will.
