A new basketball coach! Again!
40/29 has learned through multiple sources that John Pelphrey will be the next head coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks. According to Foxsports.com and cbssportsline.com, Pelphrey will be introduced at a press conference Monday afternoon.
It's been a tumultous search for the Hogs, which began with athletic director Frank Broyles conducting his own manhunt which settled on Dana Altman after being rebuffed by higher profile coaches (Self, Gillispie, Calipari). But the Altman experiment only lasted 24 hours... he resigned, citing a change of heart.
And now Search: Part Deux seems to have concluded, and this time a private searching firm came up with South Alabama's John Pelfrey, a longtime assistant under Billy Donovan.
Much more to come on Monday, stay tuned to 40/29.
