7-A West is a real "Frenzy"

There's a reason we call it the Friday Night Frenzy. Last year Springdale took a lot of the competition out of the 5-A West. That's not to say they weren't a blast to watch, I loved every minute of it! But this year it's plain to see the parity is back with the big schools. Last friday, Fayetteville and Northside went toe to toe in Fort Smith, and the Purple Dogs showed me something. I went with them to Texas during the summer for one of their passing league tournaments. I knew then this team had tons of potential: Mahone, Gionni Harris, Stockalper etc. Tons of talent and good chemistry.
But the real X-factor is Dallas McCutcheon. Sure, Kodi Burns is a stud and rightfully deserves a lot of the attention. And last year Mustain Mania was everywhere. But McCutcheon showed Friday that he belongs in the elite class of QB's in this state. He may not go to a big time D-1 college. But so what? He has a good chance of leading the Bulldogs to a state title. If that happens, Dallas and the rest of the guys will have a memory that will last forever. Should be fun to watch it all unfold in the 7-A West. Don't forget, Bentonville and Rogers will be lurking, and Springdale is still pretty solid as well. It's anyone's guess at this point, parity is here to stay in the Big 16.
