Natural Selection

I've gone through probably 30-40 postings to our message boards relative to choices for the new Springdale minor-league baseball team name. We've seen everything from references to poultry to mascots that would never fly in this area -- pun intended.

One of them stood out to me big time.

The Arkansas (or NW Arkansas or Springdale, for that matter) Naturals. First, the state's nickname makes this team name relevant. However, this team name would pay homage to one of the best baseball movies of all time: "The Natural."

Plus, maybe it shows a little ignorance here, but I am not aware of any other teams with this name. In other words, to me, that choice was a "natural."
